Changing Domain Nameservers
When your domain name is first registered with UKC it is considered parked, your nameservers are set to our parked domain nameservers (ns.microlite1.com and ns2.microlite1.com) and your domain parking features are operational.
If you wish to use your domain name with another host (without performing an unnecessary full transfer of your domain name) then you will need to apply your new hosts
nameservers to your domain name. This in effect points your domain name to your new hosts network and in turn, away from our network and so your domain parking features with UKC cease to operate however they are still present, they are simply not connected to your domain name. You can re-point your domain name back to our parked nameservers at any time and your domain services will become active.
If you are not sure of your domain nameserver settings you can view your domain WHOIS record which not only shows your nameserver settings but also the legal registrant details and other interesting information about your domain.
The Nameserver change feature is provided at no additional cost with all domain names. For more assistance visit the Domain Help Sheet. If you have problems setting up your forwarding contact our Helpdesk.
