A completely new holder is a change of registrant.<\/td><td>Nominet Online Services<\/td><\/tr>\n        <tr><th scope=\"row\">Domain contact<\/th><td>The contact name, email address, telephone number and postal address used for the domain record and important notices.<\/td><td>UKC Client Portal<\/td><\/tr>\n        <tr><th scope=\"row\">UKC account profile<\/th><td>Your customer account and billing details. These are not automatically the same as every individual domain record.<\/td><td>UKC Client Portal account settings<\/td><\/tr>\n      <\/tbody>\n    <\/table>\n  <\/div>\n  <aside class=\"ukc-organic-note\"><strong>Changing the registrant name does not automatically update the separate domain contact held in the UKC Client Portal.<\/strong> Review both records when a person, company name, address or email changes.<\/aside>\n\n  <h2 id=\"legal-registrant\">How to update the legal registrant of a .UK domain<\/h2>\n  <p>Use this route to correct the name of the existing registrant. If the domain is moving to somebody else, follow the ownership-transfer note below instead.<\/p>\n  <ol class=\"ukc-organic-steps two\">\n    <li><span>1<\/span><div><strong>Sign in to Nominet<\/strong><p>Open <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.nominet.uk\/auth\/login.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nominet Online Services<\/a> and use the email address registered against the domain.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n    <li><span>2<\/span><div><strong>Open the domain<\/strong><p>Find the .UK domain and select the arrow beside it to view the registrant and contact sections.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n    <li><span>3<\/span><div><strong>Edit the registrant<\/strong><p>Select <strong>Edit<\/strong> under Registrant. Correct the legal name, registrant type, trading name or company number as required, and explain why the record needs changing.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n    <li><span>4<\/span><div><strong>Submit the change<\/strong><p>Select <strong>Update details<\/strong>. Nominet may request identification and manually approve a registrant-name change.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n  <\/ol>\n  <aside class=\"ukc-organic-warning\">\n    <strong>Is the domain moving to a different person or organisation?<\/strong>\n    <p>In Nominet Online Services, select the domain and use <strong>Transfer Domain<\/strong>. This is a formal registrant transfer, not a name correction. Nominet currently charges \u00a310 plus VAT for its direct transfer service, and the new registrant must accept the transfer.<\/p>\n  <\/aside>\n\n  <h2 id=\"domain-contact\">How to update the domain contact in UKC<\/h2>\n  <p>Use this route when the contact name, email address, telephone number or postal address changes but the legal registrant remains the same.<\/p>\n  <ol class=\"ukc-organic-steps two\">\n    <li><span>1<\/span><div><strong>Open My Domains<\/strong><p>Sign in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/billing.uk-cheapest.co.uk\/clientarea.php?action=domains\">UKC Client Portal<\/a> and go to <strong>Domains<\/strong>, then <strong>My Domains<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n    <li><span>2<\/span><div><strong>Select the domain<\/strong><p>Choose the exact domain you want to update, then open <strong>Contact Information<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n    <li><span>3<\/span><div><strong>Enter the current details<\/strong><p>Update the contact name, email address, telephone number and postal address. Use an email address you can access even if the domain&#8217;s own email stops working.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n    <li><span>4<\/span><div><strong>Save and check for email<\/strong><p>Save the changes and complete any confirmation or verification message that follows. Reopen the domain to confirm the details were stored.<\/p><\/div><\/li>\n  <\/ol>\n  <aside class=\"ukc-organic-note\"><strong>Changing your main UKC account profile is not enough.<\/strong> Open Contact Information for the individual domain so you update its domain contact record.<\/aside>\n\n  <h2 id=\"questions\">Common questions<\/h2>\n  <div class=\"ukc-organic-faq\">\n    <details open><summary>Does this guide apply to .com and other non-UK domains?<\/summary><p>No. The Nominet steps apply to domains ending in .uk, including .co.uk and .org.uk. Other extensions use their own registry and registrar processes. Use the UKC Client Portal or ask UKC Support for the correct route.<\/p><\/details>\n    <details><summary>Can Nominet also update contact details?<\/summary><p>Yes. Nominet recommends using your registrar first, so UKC customers should normally update the domain contact in the UKC Client Portal. If you make an urgent contact change directly through Nominet, update UKC as well so both records remain consistent.<\/p><\/details>\n    <details><summary>What if I cannot sign in to Nominet?<\/summary><p>Use the email address currently registered against the domain to set or reset the Nominet Online Services password. If you cannot access that address, contact UKC Support before starting a paid identity-recovery process.<\/p><\/details>\n    <details><summary>Will changing these details affect my website or email?<\/summary><p>A contact correction should not change DNS, hosting or mail settings.
