Domain registration timing<\/p>

Many domains register within minutes, but availability and activation are not guaranteed instantly<\/h2>

Payment, registry processing, contact validation and DNS caching are separate stages. A completed order can appear in your account before every network sees the new website or email settings.<\/p>

Four stages to understand<\/h2>

The basket and payment must complete successfully.<\/p><\/article>

2. Registry<\/h3>

The relevant domain registry accepts and creates the registration.<\/p><\/article>

3. Validation<\/h3>

Some registrations require contact or eligibility checks.<\/p><\/article>

4. DNS<\/h3>

Nameservers and records must be visible through distributed caches.<\/p><\/article><\/div>

Registration is not the same as propagation<\/h2>

Registration establishes the domain at the registry. DNS then connects it to a website, mailbox or forwarding service. Cached DNS answers can continue to show an older result until they expire.<\/p>

Check the order status, invoice and My Domains. A pending order may need payment, validation or manual review.<\/p><\/article>

Domain listed but site not visible<\/h3>

Check nameservers and DNS. Try another network and allow time for caches to refresh.<\/p><\/article><\/div>
