.gmbh domain names

An address for your GmbH business.

A .gmbh domain places the familiar German-language company designation beside your business name. It is a focused choice for eligible organisations that want customers to recognise their legal identity in the address.

Who can register?

The registrant must be able to demonstrate a GmbH designation, or pending designation, with the relevant public authority in Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein or Switzerland. We ask you to confirm this during registration. An ordinary UK limited company does not qualify simply because it has limited liability. Our search accepts 2–63 ASCII letters, numbers or hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or number. Registry guidance (opens in a new tab)

Is .gmbh right for your idea?

Check eligibility before choosing a name

This ending is intended for organisations with a GmbH designation or a pending designation that can be verified by the relevant public authority. Keep the company information accurate and be ready to provide evidence if requested.

Use the name customers recognise

Pair .gmbh with the company or trading name your customers know. A short, clear address is easier to read on quotations, business cards and email signatures; check for conflicting names before registration.

Keep the website useful for customers

A company-form ending provides context, but visitors still need clear service descriptions, contact details and accurate company information. Registration is separate from incorporation, hosting and any professional authorisation.

A company designation becomes a domain ending

Questions about .gmbh domains

Can any UK limited company register .gmbh?

No. Limited liability alone is not enough: the registrant must meet the GmbH designation or pending-designation requirement. Consider .company or .limited if that requirement does not fit your organisation.

Which registration periods are offered?

Standard registration and renewal periods are 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 years. Prices for longer terms are full upfront charges; confirm the term at order review.

Does registration create a GmbH company?

No. A domain is an internet address. It does not establish a company, confer a legal status or replace registration with the relevant public authority.

What happens after I find a domain?

Add one or more available names to your basket, then continue to registration. Enter the owner details and review the registration term and total before payment. Availability is provisional until the registrar confirms registration.

Will UKC charge me automatically at renewal?

No. UKC sends renewal reminders and an invoice. You need to pay the invoice to renew; UKC does not automatically charge you. Keep your contact details current so you receive reminders.
