A .uk or .co.uk registrar transfer uses a tag change rather than an EPP code. Keep the existing nameservers unchanged so a working website and email normally continue while registrar management moves to UKC.
How do you transfer the .UK domain?
Follow the sequence and stop before any step that does not match the service shown in your UKC account.
- 1Place the UKC transfer order
Enter the complete .UK domain in the transfer cart and complete the account process so UKC can associate the incoming name correctly.
- 2Ask for the tag change
At the current registrar, change the Nominet IPS tag to MICROLITE. Enter it exactly and keep confirmation.
- 3Check My Domains
Open the UKC Client Area and confirm the domain appears with the correct holder, expiry and status after the registry change.
- 4Test existing services
Confirm the nameservers are unchanged and test website, incoming email and outgoing authenticated SMTP.
What does the transfer move?
The registrar relationship and renewal management move. Website files, mailboxes and DNS zones do not automatically move.

Do I need an EPP code for .co.uk?
No. Nominet .UK transfers use the registrar IPS tag route.
How quickly does the tag change complete?
It can be fast once the registry accepts the tag change, but account display and provider processes can take additional time.
Will it extend the expiry date?
A .UK tag change does not necessarily add a registration year. Review the current expiry and renewal after completion.
What if the domain does not appear?
