Is .me right for your idea?

Bring your work together

A personal domain can introduce you and link to selected work across different platforms. Give each link enough context that visitors understand what you contributed and what you are working on now.

Choose between your name and a personal brand

Your own name can travel with you between jobs. A creative identity may fit a particular body of work better. Consider how either choice will read on a CV, in an email address and when spoken aloud.

Publish personal details deliberately

You can explain your experience without putting every personal detail online. Choose contact methods you are comfortable making public and review older pages as your work changes.

Questions about .me domains

Is .me the same as .me.uk?

No. .me belongs to Montenegro’s domain space; .me.uk is a separate Nominet ending with individual-registrant rules.

Can .me be used for a professional portfolio?

Yes. Its personal reading can fit a portfolio, consultancy or independent practice. Explain your services and qualifications accurately.

Can I keep it when I change jobs?

A domain registered to you can remain your personal address. Keep control of the account and renew the registration when due.

What happens after I find a domain?

Add one or more available names to your basket, then continue to registration. Enter the owner details and review the registration term and total before payment. Availability is provisional until the registrar confirms registration.

Will UKC charge me automatically at renewal?

No. UKC sends renewal reminders and an invoice. You need to pay the invoice to renew; UKC does not automatically charge you. Keep your contact details current so you receive reminders.
