Domain Parking Status
Parked means the domain is using the UKC parking nameservers and tools
A parked domain can use the Domain Website Builder, DNS Manager, Web Forwarding and Email Forwarding. If the status says it is not parked, another nameserver service is authoritative and UKC parking tools cannot control the live DNS until the domain is pointed back.
What do the two statuses mean?
Domain is parked
The active nameservers use the UKC parking service. Domain Tools in the Client Area can control the parked website, DNS and forwarding.
Domain is not parked
The active nameservers point elsewhere, such as shared hosting or another platform. Make live DNS changes with the authoritative provider.
What is included while a domain is parked?
Domain Website Builder

DNS Manager
Manage records with straightforward controls and presets for services such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
Web Forwarding
Send visitors to another website using a permanent or temporary redirect.
Email Forwarding
Create addresses at the domain and forward incoming messages to an inbox you already use.
How do I park or unpark a domain?
- 1Open the domain
Sign in to the UKC Client Area, open My Domains and select the domain.
- 2Record existing DNS
Save nameservers and every important website, email and verification record before replacing anything.
- 3Choose the nameservers
Use UKC parking defaults to park the domain, or enter the exact nameservers supplied by the external service to unpark it.
- 4Check after caches update
Test the website and email. Nameserver changes can take time to appear through every resolver.
What should I check before changing parking status?
