Domain web forwarding
Web forwarding sends visitors from your domain to another web address
Use a 301 redirect for a permanent move and a 302 redirect for a temporary one. Enter the complete destination URL, including https://, and test both the root domain and www form.
Choose the redirect type
301 permanent
Use when the old domain has permanently moved. Search engines can treat this as a long-term change, but signals are not guaranteed or transferred instantly.
302 temporary
Use when the destination is temporary, such as maintenance or a short campaign. Change it back when the temporary period ends.
Set up web forwarding
Open the domain
Go to My Domains, select the domain and open Web Forwarding.
Enter the destination
Use the full valid URL and choose permanent or temporary forwarding.
Test the result
Use a private window and test HTTP, HTTPS, root and www where applicable.
HTTPS and Domain Parking SSL
A browser must establish a secure connection to the original hostname before it can receive an HTTPS redirect. Domain Parking SSL is an optional add-on that protects the parked website and forwarding and is normally provisioned automatically within a few minutes of purchase.
SEO and masked forwarding
Prefer a normal 301 or 302 response. Framed or masked presentation can create accessibility, analytics and indexing problems because the destination is displayed inside another page rather than becoming the visible URL.
