UKC parked-domain tool
Web forwarding sends visitors from your domain to another complete web address
Use Domain Tools when the domain is parked with UKC. Enter the full destination, choose permanent or temporary forwarding deliberately and test both the bare domain and www version. DNS alone cannot redirect a visitor to a page path.
Choose the right forwarding type
Permanent forwarding
Use a 301 when the old address has moved for the foreseeable future and visitors should use the destination instead.
Temporary forwarding
Use a 302 when the destination is short-term and the original domain will be used differently later.
Forward to a complete URL
Include https:// and any required path, such as https://example.com/special-offer/.
Keep email separate
Web forwarding does not configure mail. Preserve the required MX and related email records.
Set up forwarding in Domain Tools
- 1Open the domain
Sign in to the Client Area, open My Domains and select the parked domain.
- 2Choose Web Forwarding
Confirm the domain uses ns.ukc.uk and ns2.ukc.uk or the supported Microlite parking nameservers.
- 3Enter the destination
Paste the full URL, choose permanent or temporary forwarding and save once.
- 4Test the result
Open the domain in a private browser window and verify the final address and page.
If forwarding does not work
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Nameservers | The domain must delegate to the UKC parking service |
| Destination | Include the scheme and correct page path |
| DNS cache | Old answers may remain after a nameserver change |
| HTTPS | Secure visits require a certificate before the redirect can be served safely |
| Loop | The destination must not redirect back to the parked domain |
Forwarding questions
Does forwarding show the destination address?
Yes. A normal HTTP redirect sends the browser to the destination, which then appears in the address bar.
Can I forward to a specific page?
Yes. Enter the complete destination URL including the page path and any required trailing slash.
Can I use forwarding with another provider’s nameservers?
Not through UKC Domain Tools. Configure the redirect at the authoritative provider or point the domain back to UKC parking.
Direct visitors clearly
Choose the redirect type, save once and test HTTPS
Keep a note of the previous setup so you can reverse the change cleanly.
