.AU registration requirements
A .AU registration requires a validated Australian presence, with extra allocation rules for some namespaces
.au direct is open to eligible people and organisations with an Australian presence. A com.au or net.au applicant must also be a commercial entity and choose a name connected to its business, trade mark, service or qualifying identity.
What should you check before applying?
The extension alone does not determine eligibility. Check the exact namespace, the applicant and the relationship between the name and that applicant.

The domain holder matters

Does availability guarantee registration?
No. The registry can reject or suspend an application that does not meet its rules, even if the label initially appears available.
Can a developer register it for me?
A helper can place the order, but the registry record should use the eligible holder’s accurate details and identifiers.
Can I hide all registrant information?
Privacy treatment depends on the registry and applicable law. Do not assume a proxy service is permitted for every extension.
What if I am unsure whether I qualify?
