A free-domain offer normally bundles the initial registration with another paid service. At UKC, select the domain during the eligible order and check the basket confirms the registration discount before payment. The domain remains a renewable service, so review the extension, term, renewal price and VAT.
How does a free domain with hosting work?
The provider pays or discounts the initial registration because you are buying a qualifying service. The domain is still registered for a defined term and still needs accurate registrant details and future renewal.
Initial eligible registration
The basket applies the current offer to an eligible extension when the associated plan and billing term qualify.
Normal domain renewal
After the included term, the domain renews at the price then applicable to that extension unless you choose not to renew it.
Hosting or website plan
The qualifying plan has its own billing cycle and renewal. Cancelling it does not make the domain permanently free.
Registered to the intended holder
Enter accurate registrant details. A bundled price does not reduce the importance of domain ownership and account security.

Is a free subdomain the same as a free domain?
Your own registered domain
An address such as yourbusiness.co.uk is registered through a registrar for a term. You control how it connects while the registration remains active.
A provider’s subdomain
An address such as yourbusiness.example-platform.com sits under somebody else’s domain. It may be useful for testing, but it is not your own domain registration.
Can you use a domain you already own?
Yes. You do not need to register a second name merely to use UKC hosting. You can point an existing domain to the hosting service, or transfer the registration to UKC separately when that is useful.

Update the domain’s nameservers or DNS records using the hosting details supplied after activation.
Transfer the registration

Free domain offer questions
Is the domain free forever?
No. The offer applies to the eligible initial registration term. The domain needs normal renewal after that term.
Which extensions are included?
Eligibility can change. Search through the qualifying order and check which extensions receive the discount in the live basket.
Can I choose the domain after ordering hosting?
Use the domain-selection step during ordering whenever possible. If you have already completed the order, ask support whether the current offer can still be applied before registering separately.
What happens to the domain if I cancel hosting?
The domain and hosting are separate services. Check both renewal dates and charges. Cancelling hosting does not erase a valid domain registration, but the hosted website and mailboxes will stop when the hosting ends.
Does the free domain include a mailbox?
No. Email Forwarding is included, but a stored mailbox with webmail, IMAP and SMTP is a separate service or part of an eligible hosting plan.
Can I transfer the domain away later?
Normally yes, subject to the extension’s registry rules, current domain status and any applicable transfer lock.
