Masked / Framed Web Forwarding
Framed forwarding (also known as 'masked' or 'cloaked' forwarding) uses HTML code which opens your web site into a frame in the visitors browser. The net result of this process is that your web site opens up your destination URL (such as http://myfreespace.com) in the browser window but your domain name (eg. http://www.yourdomain.co.uk) is displayed in the visitors browser address bar.
One advantage of using this type of forwarding is that you can also customise your frame TITLE and META TAGS for indexing by the search engines, a better site description can increase the click-thrus that you receive to your website. Not all free webspace providers allow framed forwarding to their web space as it is often within their interests to sell you a domain name or full hosting package.
The Masked / Framed Forwarding feature is provided at no additional cost with all domain names. For more assistance visit the Domain Help Sheet. If you have problems setting up your forwarding contact our Helpdesk.
