The quickest supported way to install WordPress on UKC shared hosting is through WordPress Toolkit in Plesk Obsidian. It creates the files and database for you, then provides one place to manage login, updates, security and backups.
What do you need before installing WordPress?
An active hosting plan
WordPress needs shared web hosting. A domain registration and its free Domain Website Builder are not a WordPress hosting account.
The domain in Plesk
The intended domain or subdomain must be attached to the hosting service before it can be selected for installation.
The correct location
Install at the root for the main website, or choose a folder such as blog only when you want the site at that address.
Private administrator details
Use a strong, unique password and an email address you can access. Do not use admin as the username.
How do you install WordPress in Plesk Obsidian?
- 1Sign in to the UKC Client Area
Open your active hosting service and use its control-panel link. This sends you to the correct assigned Plesk server.
- 2Open WordPress Toolkit
Choose WordPress from the Plesk navigation. If you cannot reach Plesk, use the Plesk login guide.
- 3Select Install
Click Install. Choose the domain, protocol and installation path carefully. Leave the path empty when WordPress should be the main site.
- 4Enter the website details
Add a clear site title and choose the language. You can change these later from the WordPress dashboard.
- 5Create the administrator
Use a distinctive username, a strong generated password and a monitored email address. Save the credentials in a password manager.
- 6Install and open the dashboard
Review the update settings, start the installation and wait for Plesk to finish. Use Log in on the WordPress Toolkit card to open the dashboard.
What should you do immediately after installation?
Enable the free SSL certificate
Use Plesk to issue a Let’s Encrypt certificate, redirect visitors to HTTPS and confirm the address opens without a browser warning.
Review automatic updates
Keep WordPress core, plugins and themes current. Outdated components are a common source of security problems.
Configure Backup Manager
Create a backup before major changes and schedule suitable account backups. UKC also maintains daily server-side backups for recovery requests.
Apply Toolkit security measures
Review WordPress Toolkit security recommendations and keep Imunify protection active. Remove unused plugins and themes.
After these checks, set the site title, permalink format and privacy option in WordPress. Build the essential pages first, then add only the plugins the website genuinely needs.

How do you bring an existing WordPress site into Plesk?
Import an accessible WordPress site
In Plesk, open Websites and Domains, choose WordPress and use Import. Follow the prompts and test the copied site before changing DNS.
Ask for help with a complex move
Large sites, stores, custom configurations and sites with active orders or memberships need a planned migration. Keep the old service active until the new copy is verified.
WordPress installation troubleshooting
WordPress is not shown in Plesk
Confirm you opened the correct shared hosting service. If WordPress Toolkit is still unavailable, contact support with the service name.
The domain is not listed
Add the domain or subdomain to the hosting account first, then return to WordPress Toolkit and restart the installation.
The location contains files
Stop and identify the existing content. Back it up or choose a genuinely empty path before installing.
The site shows a certificate warning
Issue a Let’s Encrypt certificate for the domain and use HTTPS only after DNS points to the hosting server.
A plugin causes an error
Disable the most recently added plugin from WordPress Toolkit or the dashboard, then check its requirements and support information.
You cannot log in
Use the WordPress Toolkit login control or reset the administrator password there. Never send the password in a support ticket.

Is WordPress included with every UKC shared hosting plan?
Yes. UKC shared hosting includes Plesk WordPress Toolkit. WordPress itself is open-source software, while the hosting plan supplies the server resources and management tools.
Do I need to create a database manually?
No. WordPress Toolkit creates and configures the database during a normal installation.
Can I install more than one WordPress website?
The hosting plan’s website and resource limits still apply. Check the current plan allowance before adding another site.
Can I install WordPress on a parked domain without hosting?
No. A parked UKC domain includes Domain Website Builder for a single-page site, but WordPress needs a shared hosting service or another suitable server.
Are WordPress updates automatic?
WordPress Toolkit provides update controls and can automate selected updates. Review the settings, maintain backups and check the website after significant changes.
Can UKC restore my WordPress site?
You can restore backups created in Plesk Backup Manager. UKC also keeps daily server-side backups and can assist with a restore request, subject to the available retention point.
