Hotmail emails not arriving?
"I am having problems with my Hotmail account. Suddenly, in the last few weeks, I am not able to receive emails from my brother or my employer. They do not get a delivery failure error and it's not in my junk folder. The emails have simply disappeared. I receive emails from everyone else. What can I do?"
This is becoming a common problem, not just with Hotmail account but also with Yahoo also.
As you have described, the common is fairly simply:
- Someone sends you an email
- You don't get it
- The sender receives no indication that it was not delivered
The basic recommendations are:
- Check your junk email folder
- Clear any filters you have on incoming mail
- Add the senders email address to your Hotmail address book
- Make sure the sender isn't sending anything that looks spammy (keywords: business, offers, free etc)
So what can you do to resolve the problem? Unfortunately, nothing. The chances are that your email provider (Hotmail or Yahoo in this case) are being overly aggressive with their spam filters.
To be completely safe, avoid using free email services such as Hotmail or Yahoo for business purposes, or where you absolutely positively need to receive all emails sent to you.
Solution: Use another provider.
