Which web hosting control panel do you use?

Starting from 2010, we switched to Parallel’s Plesk web hosting control panel software for our new server range. Plesk is currently the best web hosting control panel on the market giving high performance, security and flexilibity.

Previously we used Ensim Pro which is now part of Parallels. The best features of Ensim Pro are now built into Plesk and moving forward, Plesk has replaced the Ensim Pro system. Many of our clients still use Ensim Pro, it is still a great control panel. However, unless specificially requested, all new web hosting accounts will be set up on our Plesk server range.

Are banners and ads displayed on my site?

It is common for low cost, cheap and free web hosting service providers to place banners or ads on your website, they use the revenue generated from the displaying or such banners and ads to recoup the cost to provide the service.

The problem with this methodology is that your site will look unprofessional, also you have no control over the types of advertisements shown on your site.

At UK-Cheapest,co.uk, we do not display any banners or advertisements on your site. In fact, we do not meddle with your code at all. What you see is exactly as you uploaded and nothing more.

How can I upgrade from Ensim to Plesk?

We are now using the award winning Plesk Control Panel for all new hosting accounts, although there are still many clients that prefer the Ensim interface – there are many reasons why you should upgrade.

Things to consider

If you are using Ensim, and would like to move to Plesk then we have some good news – we can do this for you at no cost! You will receive all the benefits of our new Plesk servers however there are some issues to consider:

  • Ensim and Plesk backups are not interchangeble.
  • We cannot move your web site, emails or anything else from the old account.
  • You will be responsible for re-uploading your web site and data.
  • Your Plesk Hosting account will be setup just like a brand new account.

How to proceed

  • Make sure you have a backup copy of your website and emails
  • Remember – your Ensim account will be completely deleted
  • Your Plesk account will be set up as a brand new account
  • Ready to proceed?
  • Contact the Helpdesk and request a ‘FREE sameday upgrade to Plesk’

How do I change my domain IPSTAG to another provider?

There is nothing preventing you from transferring your domain name to another provider however this is usally not necessary. Only .UK domain names have IPSTAGs.

If you really do want to change your IPSTAG, you need to login to your Domain Control Panel and select “Change IPSTAG” to transer out your domain name.

You will need to know your new domain providers IPSTAG and enter it carefully.

Login to the Domain Control Panel (DCP) to change your IPSTAG.

Alternatively, you can contact Nominet directly who will also make the IPSTAG change at a cost of £10+VAT per UK domain.
